UPDATE: I guess there is a way to change it, you can go under Chrome Settings | People and then edit it for the account you're currently using it as.

I'm not sure why they turned it from awesome (upper left corner with a uniqely-chosen icon) to crappy (just a first name in an inconspicuous button). For awhile you could set a setting to keep the old way, but they phased that out.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a second profile that I never used, _explicitly_ so I could have a little ninja head on the top left of my browser. :(
It is a pretty big piece of UI fail... if might be mitigated if you could edit the alias to like "work" "personal" etc or what not, but I don't see an option for that.
DeleteI really scratch my ahead about what seems to be such blatant dumbness - if it's more complicated than it looks somehow, or they use it very differently than most people, or basic usability thoughts is far down their list of things to get to
