Wish I could find a setting for what mode the camera starts in, One Second Everyday geeks like me almost always are diving straight to video...Yesterday my girlfriend pointed out there is a "Preserve Settings" option for the camera in iOS11 - in fact, judging by this article it was added in iOS 10.2, about 2 months after I complained about its lack.
Kind of frustrating to not have known about it for over a year! I guess it might make sense to go over other app settings and see if there's anything useful...
